At the core of the Brooklyn-based TV on the Radio are vocalist Tunde Adebimpe and multi-instrumentalist/producer David Andrew Sitek. A few others, including Sitek’s brother Jason on drums and Kyp Malone on guitars/vocals, joined the lineup before TV on the Radio released their debut LP, Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes, in 2004. TV on the Radio has three full-length albums under their belt, 2004’s Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes, 2006’s Return to Cookie Mountain and 2008’s Dear Science, and each one proves why they have been hailed one of the best, and most innovative, American bands out there today. Although TV on the Radio is usually described as an indie rock band, that label doesn’t encompass their eclectic sound, which incorporates post-punk and electronic sounds into the fold for a truly unique style of music that is really beyond classification.
