Los Angeles band The Human Abstract is a bit of an anomaly. Though they formed in 2004, the band is a throwback to progressive rock bands like Rush—though throwing in a healthy dose of raven-black emo metal for good measure. Taking their name from the title of a William Blake poem, they're clearly a band that turns their internal brooding into music.
The Human Abstract got its start in 2004, adding members the following year and finally releasing a debut record in 2006.
