Stephen Patrick Morrissey was born May 22, 1959, in Manchester, England where he grew up loving music. Morrissey made his debut with the Smiths in 1983 with their single "Hand in Glove." The Smiths continued their success throughout the '80s, but broke up later in the decade. Morrissey then started his solo career in 1988 with singles like "Suedehead" and "Everyday is Like Sunday."
