Key Arena used to be known as Seattle Center Coliseum when it was first constructed in 1962. Extensive renovations in 1994 added to the Key Arena seating chart, allowing the maximum capacity for basketball games to reach 17,000. For boxing or concerts, more of the floor level can be used for seating so the capacity can be slightly higher.
