Formed in Fullerton, California, Cold War Kids consists of Matt Aveiro, Matt Maust, Jonnie Russell and Nathan Willett. Their music ranges from slow, bluesy dirges filled with hand-clapping to strained poetic vocals. "Don't wanna die in your arms, I just wanna..diiie," vocalist Nathan Willett wails on "Die, Die, Die" -- and you really believe him. Other songs are filled with undeniably catchy hooks and unforgettable lyrics, often with mournful undertones.
After garnering some early attention for their EPs, Cold war Kids made a splash with their 2006 LP Robbers and Cowards. In 2008 they followed up with Loyalty to Loyalty, earning major attention from the alternative music press and various music blogs. Now the band is on tour and criss-crossing America.
