Christopher Cross was born Christopher Geppert in San Antonio, TX, May 3, 1951. He signed his first solo contract in 1978
and released his debut in 1980 with the hits “Ride Like the Wind” and “Sailing,” skyrocketing Cross’
fame to adult contemporary heights. With several more hits, Cross earned five Grammy Awards in 1981 alone, while also picking
up an Academy Award for the single “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)” for the Dudley Moore film Arthur.
He has continued to release albums into the most recent decade.
