Bowl games are some of the best games in all of college football. One of the bowls that helps continue that tradition is
the BBVA Compass Bowl. For the 2011 BBVA Compass Bowl, it was a fight between the Pittsburgh Panthers and the Kentucky Wildcats,
with the Panthers winning 27-10. The 2012 BBVA Compass Bowl will be another opportunity to witness the magic.
The city of Birmingham has a rich bowl history, beginning with the Dixie Bowl in the 1940s. The Hall of Fame Bowl resided
in the city for 1977-1985, followed by the All American Bowl from 1986-1990. Birmingham was without any post-season NCAA football
action for more than a decade when the first BBVA Compass Bowl happened in 2006, then called the Papajohns.com Bowl.
Legion Field has played an
important role in the history of NCAA
football. Along with hosting the BBVA Compass Bowl, Legion Field is also home to the UAB Blazers. It has also hosted the
Iron Bowl between Auburn and Alabama from 1948-1988 as well as the SEC Championship games in 1992 and 1993. Legion Field has
also hosted concerts like Punk Floyd and the Rolling Stones.
Once you have experience all of the magic of the BBVA Compass Bowl, you are sure to want to come back every year. Even
if your favorite team isn't in the BBVA Compass Bowl this year, it will still feature top-notch football action. Gather together
your entire crew and then book sports tickets
