Bootsy Collins was born William Collins on October 26, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a funk/R&B bassist, singer and bandleader, who started out with the Pacesetters in 1968, which acted as James Brown’s backup in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. The artist launched the Bootsy’s Rubber Band in ’76. He signed with Warner Brothers and the rest, as the y say, is history.
