In the college sports scene,
few sports have the same following that college football does. The Southwestern Athletic Conference helps keep that reputation
intact. The Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Lions are a part of the Western Division of the SWAC, which means they are up against
Grambling State, Texas Southern, Prairie View A&M and Southern University.
Football got its start at the Arkansas Pine Bluff, when Charles McClurkin organized the first football team in 1915 at
Branch Normal College. Branch Normal College eventually became Arkansas AM&N College in 1927, and the next year was the first
official year of football. In the years since, the Golden Lions have continued to make an impact on the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
Whenever the Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Lions take the field to play at home, it is at Golden Lion Stadium. Golden Lion
Stadium is a relatively new stadium in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, which means that it has all of the amenities
expected from a modern stadium. The stadium was a capacity of 16,000.
Fans of NCAA football who
cheer for the Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Lions football team know that the best way to experience Golden Lions football is
